1. Roofing

Do you offer roof repairs as well as full re-roofs?

Can you find a leak if I'm not sure where it's coming from?
Yes. Leaks often show up away from the entry point. We inspect the likely sources and advise the most sensible fix.

Do you repair chimney flashings and leadwork?
Yes — lead flashings, abutments and valleys are a frequent cause of leaks and we deal with these regularly.

Do you replace fascias, soffits and guttering?
Yes, where required as part of the roof works or as a standalone job.

Will you need scaffolding?
It depends on height, pitch and safe access. We'll confirm the safest approach after inspection.

Do you provide photos of the work?
Yes — if you'd like, we can provide before/during/after photos for peace of mind.

Do you offer emergency/temporary weatherproofing?
Where possible, yes. We'll advise the quickest safe option to prevent further water ingress, then follow up with the proper repair.

2. Loft Conversions

How do I know if my loft is suitable for conversion?

Most lofts can be converted, but it depends on head height, roof structure, access and planning constraints. We can advise after a site visit.

Do you do dormer and Velux loft conversions?
Yes — including dormers, Velux conversions, structural alterations and internal fit-out.

Do you handle the structural work (steels, floor strengthening, etc.)?
Yes — we manage the build properly, including structural elements where required.

Will I need planning permission?
Some lofts fall under permitted development, others need planning. We'll advise based on your property and local rules.

Do you work with Building Control?

Do you do single-storey and double-storey extensions?

Can you match the new extension to the existing house?

Do you handle full renovations and refurbishments?
Yes — from layout changes and structural works through to finishes.

Can you help if I'm not 100% sure on the final spec yet?

Do you take on commercial or maintenance work?

Can you work out of hours?

Are you insured?

Will you keep the site tidy?
Yes — we keep the working area safe and organised and clear away waste as agreed.

Do you dispose of waste?
Yes — we can include skip hire/removal and responsible disposal within the quotation.

Can you start straight away?
Start dates depend on current workload, access requirements and material lead times. We'll be upfront and keep you updated.

3. Quotes, Pricing & Payments

Do you offer free quotes?

Yes — once we understand the scope, we provide a clear written quotation.

Is VAT included?
If VAT applies, it will be clearly shown on the quotation so there are no surprises.

How long is your quotation valid for?
We include a validity period on the quote (especially important where material prices can change).

Do you require a deposit?
Some projects require a deposit to secure booking/materials. Payment terms will be set out clearly in writing.

Can the price change after you start?
Only if the scope changes, we uncover unforeseen issues, or you request upgrades/variations. Any changes are discussed and agreed in writing before proceeding.

Can you provide a breakdown of costs?

3. Practical Questions

Will I need to move out during the work?

Most projects can be completed while you remain at home. If a phase is disruptive (e.g., major structural works), we'll talk you through the plan.

How noisy or disruptive will it be?
Construction is disruptive at times, but we plan works in sensible stages and keep you informed so you can plan around it.

What happens if bad weather delays roofing works?
Weather can affect scheduling. We'll protect the property and communicate any changes to timing.

Do you work with neighbours and access considerations?
Yes — if access, parking or shared boundaries are relevant, we'll flag this early and plan sensibly.

What information do you need to quote accurately?
A site visit is best, plus any plans/photos, your goals, preferred finishes, and any timescale constraints.
